Intimacy & Attachment —

Intimacy & Attachment —

Therapy for understanding the patterns that shape how you love and relate.

Do any of these sound familiar?

  • Fear of being “too much” or “not enough” in relationships

  • Difficulty trusting or expressing needs

  • Avoiding vulnerability, even when you want closeness

  • Anxious thoughts when connection feels uncertain

  • Repeating painful patterns, despite best intentions

  • Strong emotional reactions to closeness or distance

  • Fear of not being seen or loved as you are

  • Doubts that others can be trusted with your needs

  • Chronic distancing of difficulty feeling close

  • Lack of safe, nourishing connection

These patterns don’t need to define your relationship. Therapy can offer a supportive space to explore where they come from, understand how they protect you, and begin gently shifting them over time.

Understanding Intimacy & Attachment

Attachment Styles

Attachment styles shape how you reach for others and how you respond when relationships feel uncertain. Understanding your style helps you notice old patterns with more clarity, compassion, and choice.

Intimacy Patterns

Intimacy patterns reflect the habits you’ve developed to stay safe in connection. They can show up as pulling close, pulling away, or shifting between the two. Naming these patterns gives you room to relate in new, more aligned ways.

How This Shows Up

These patterns influence how you communicate, set boundaries, express needs, and handle conflict. When you understand the roots of your reactions, you can show up with more intention, emotional steadiness, and self-trust.

Therapy can help you gently explore the patterns that shape how you give and receive closeness. Together, we’ll slow things down, make sense of your emotional responses, and begin to build more safety, self-trust, and connection — both within yourself and in your relationships.

My Approach

My Approach

We won’t rush to “fix” anything. Patterns in intimacy and attachment develop for a reason; they often reflect strategies we learned to stay safe, connected, or protected in earlier relationships. Rather than seeing these patterns as flaws, we’ll slow down and get curious about how they formed.

Together, we’ll explore how your attachment history, past relational experiences, and internalized beliefs shape the way you respond to closeness, distance, conflict, and change. Many relationship struggles are less about what’s happening now and more about nervous system responses shaped over time. As these patterns come into focus, reactivity to triggers softens and relationships begin to feel safer, more connected, and easier to navigate.
